Vantrails’s Privacy Policy is designed to provide clarity about the information we collect and how we use it to provide a better gaming experience. By accepting our Privacy Policy in registration or game installation, or accessing our website, you consent to our collection, storage, use and disclosure of your personal information as described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to all of the terms below, do not access or use any of Vantrails’s games, services, or products, hereafter denoted as “Vantrails product” or “Vantrails Games”

• Introduction

Vantrails develops and publishes games for the web and mobile devices. We are Indie game developer. This Privacy Policy includes:

• the information we collect, how we do so and the purposes of our collection
• how we use and with whom we share such information
• how you can access and update such information
• how we protect the information we store about you

If you access our games from a third party Social Networking Site (“SNS”), you may be required to also read and accept the SNS Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

• Information We Collect

Information about You Received from an SNS

When you use any Vantrails game at an SNS such as Facebook or Google +, where our games may also be referred to as “applications”, you allow Vantrails to access certain information from your profile for that site. The information you allow Vantrails to access varies by game and SNS, and it is affected by the privacy settings you and your friends establish at the SNS. You can control and find out more about these settings at the SNS where you play our games. For example, Vantrails may access and store some or all of the following information, as allowed by you, the SNS and your preferences:

• your first and last name
• your profile picture or its URL
• your user ID number, which is linked to publicly available information such as name and profile photo
• the user ID numbers and other public data for your friends
• the login e-mail you provided to that SNS when you registered
• your physical location and that of your access devices
• your gender
• your birthday

By playing Vantrails’s games through an SNS, you are authorizing Vantrails to collect, store, and use in accordance with this Privacy Policy any and all information that you agreed the SNS could provide to Vantrails through the SNS Application Programming Interface (“API”).

Information We Receive or Collect When You Access Vantrails Games on a Mobile Device

If you play Vantrails’s games on your mobile telephones or other mobile devices, including iPads and tablets, we collect mobile device identifiers, including MAC Address, and IP Address. In certain games, we might create and assign to your device an identifier that is similar to an account number. We may collect the name you have associated with your device, device type, telephone number, country, and any other information you choose to provide, such as user name, character name, geo-location or e-mail address. We may also access your contacts to enable you to invite friends to join you in the games.

Customer Support Correspondence

When you ask for assistance through our email, we will collect and store the contact information you provide (generally your name and e-mail address), information about your game play or activity on the game, and other data that you might have provided. We will also store the correspondence and any information contained within.

Technical and Usage Information

When you access our website or play our games, we collect (i) certain technical information about your mobile device or computer system, including MAC Address, IP Address and mobile device ID; and (ii) usage statistics about your interactions with the game. This information is typically collected through the use of server log files or web log files (“Log Files”), mobile device software development kits and tracking technologies like browser cookies to collect and analyze certain types of technical information. Some of the cookies the Service places on your computer are linked to your user ID number(s). For more information on how we utilize cookies and other tracking technologies please review the “Cookies and Automated Information Collection” portion of Section 3 (“How We Collect Information about You”).

• How we collect information

When you play one of our games, Vantrails collects and stores certain information that you provide directly or through the SNS or other third party website that is offering our game(s). To provide a richer game play and social experience, we also collect information about your play and interaction with other players and the games. The bulk of this information may be collected and stored through the use of Log Files, which are files on our web servers that record actions taken on our games and websites.

When you access Vantrails games, we collect certain technical information in order to (i) analyze the usage of our sites and services; (ii) provide a more personalized experience; and (iii) manage advertising. We and service providers acting on our behalf, including but not limited to: Google Analytics, Flurry, and Admob, use Log Files and tracking technologies to collect and analyze certain types of technical information, including cookies, IP addresses, device type, device identifiers, browser types, browser language, referring and exit pages, and URLs, platform type, the number of clicks, domain names, landing pages, pages viewed and the order of those pages, the amount of time spent on particular pages, game state and the date and time of activity on our websites or games, and other similar information.

• Use of information we collect

In general, we use personal information that we collect to process your requests or transactions, to provide you with information or services you request, to inform you about other information, events, promotions, products or services we think will be of interest to you, to facilitate your use and our administration and operation of the Vantrails Products, to learn more about and improve the Vantrails Products and for the purpose for which information was provided. For example, we may use the information we collect:

1.  To send you a welcoming email or contact you about your use of the Vantrails Products, such as for administrative purposes or to provide you with customer service;
2. To provide you with the services, products or information you request and to complete any transactions or facilitate the use of any features in connection there with, such as matching users for gameplay;

To contact you about or to advertise our or a third party’s services, products, activities, special events or offers and for other marketing, informational, product development and promotional purposes;

1. To respond to your emails, submissions, comments, requests or complaints;
2. To notify contest winners; and
3. To request feedback and to enable us to develop, customize and improve the Vantrails Products and new offerings.

In addition, when you use one of our Vantrails Products on a social networking site, we may record information regarding the use of that Vantrails Product, and we may collect other information that is visible on your social networking site in accordance with the relevant terms of use associated with that page. This information may include, but is not limited to, your name, profile picture, the pictures of your social networking site “friends,” gender, and game scores. We may retain this information to enhance your experience when playing our games. For example we may post the high scores and profile pictures of you and your friends while you play one of our Vantrails Products.

• Sharing of Information

Vantrails does not sell or rent personal information to third parties or share personal information with third parties outside the Vantrails organizations, except as described in this Policy as it may be revised from time to time, or with your consent. However, we may share personal information with consultants, vendors and service providers who perform functions on our behalf, but we require that Service Providers only use such information as is necessary to carry out their work. We also allow third party vendors to serve ads on our sites to collect information about users’ interactions with those ads. In addition, we may share your information with third parties if we have a good faith belief that the disclosure is necessary or appropriate to comply with law or legal process; to protect and defend the rights and property or personal safety of Vantrails, our customers or the public; to prevent and protect Vantrails and our users from fraudulent, abusive, unlawful or unauthorized use of the Vantrails Products; or to otherwise enforce our rights and agreements. We also may share such information with official law enforcement authorities in our sole discretion. Your personal information also may be disclosed or transferred as part of, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of company assets, financing or acquisition or in any other situation where personal information may be transferred as one of the business assets of Vantrails.

• Policies concerning children

Our websites and games are not intended for children under the age of 13 and we do not knowingly collect any personal information from such children. Children under the age of 13 should not use our websites or games at any time. In the event that we learn that we have inadvertently gathered personal information from children under the age of 13, we will take reasonable measures to promptly erase such information from our records.

• Third Party Advertising companies

We may use or allow a third party advertising company or network to display ads on the Vantrails Products or in Vantrails Products. We may also, in the future, use or allow a third party payment provider to collect information needed to facilitate payments and purchases on our site. Any information gathered by third parties is collected by such third parties, not Vantrails. Such collection is handled by the third parties and therefore their privacy policies apply. For example, if you purchase goods or services from Vantrails using the third party wallet provided by our payment processor or another vendor, including without limitation the Facebook credits program, your information may be stored by that third party for use with other participating sites or applications and would be subject to that processor’s or vendor’s privacy policy and practices

Third–party companies who serve ads and/or collect certain anonymous information when you visit Vantrails Products may also use non–personally identifiable information (e.g., click stream information, browser type, time and date, subject of advertisements clicked or scrolled over) during your visits to Vantrails Products in order to provide advertisements about goods and services likely to be of greater interest to you. These companies typically use a cookie or third party web beacon to collect this information.

Also, if an advertiser asks us to show an advertisement to users with certain or a segment of that group and you respond to that advertisement, the third–party advertising company may conclude that you have the characteristics of the audience they are trying to reach.

Please also note that with respect to Vantrails Products, our system and the third–party advertising technology uses information derived from cookies on your drive and the Vantrails Products you use to target advertising within our Vantrails Products. In the course of advertisements being served to you, a unique third–party cookie or cookies may be placed on your computer.

From time to time, Vantrails may use various third parties for transaction processing, virtual goods sales, offers and similar purposes. Your interactions with third party vendors are also governed by their Terms of Use/Service/Sale and Privacy Policies.

• Security of Information

We strive to protect personal information while it is under our control. Your account information is accessible online only through the use of a password. To help protect the confidentiality of personal information, you must keep your password confidential and not disclose it to any other person. You are responsible for all uses of the Vantrails Products by any person using your password. Please advise us immediately if you believe your password has been compromised or misused

• California privacy rights

Under California law, customers who are California residents are entitled to request and obtain annually information about the personal information we shared, if any, with other businesses for their own direct marketing during the prior calendar year. If applicable, the information would include the categories of personal information and the names and addresses of those businesses with which we shared personal information. To make such a request, please send an email to info@van-trails.com. Please note that not all information sharing is covered under the California law, and only information on covered sharing will be included in our response.

• P3P

Please note that some of our Vantrails Products support “P3P” or the Platform for Privacy Preferences. If the terms of the Platform for Privacy Preferences or our XML P3P code should for any reason ever differ from the terms of this Privacy Policy, the terms of this Privacy Policy shall control
